     True Balance Pilates and Fitness, LLC is a minority owned company.  The owner, Wendy Hammond, has devoted her entire life and career helping people achieve better health through fitness and wellness.  She has been an athlete all her life competing throughout the United States and Canada as an Elite gymnast. Wendy earned a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics at the University of Alabama where she helped her team to the Division 1 National Championships in 1988 and 1991. Wendy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sports Fitness Management and her Master’s Degree in Human Performance and Exercise Physiology. 


     Upon moving to South Florida in 1994, Wendy worked at the prestigious Spa at Doral where she worked as a Wellness Coordinator and Supervisor for two years.  She then moved her career to work at Shula’s Athletic Club for 10 years as the Fitness Director overseeing several departments including: Personal Training, Group Fitness, Kids programs, Summer Camp, and Wellness Events.  She not only supervised, hired, and trained staff, but performed member fitness evaluations, orientations, taught aerobic classes, and personal training.  During that time, Wendy also competed in the Ms. Fitness USA 2003 and Ms. Fitness USA 2004 National Fitness Competition.  She also volunteered her time to be on the American Heart Association’s 5k Heart Walk and Orange Bowl 5k Run Fundraiser committees.  One of Wendy's biggest honors was being a Personal Trainer of Coach Don Shula, the "Most Winningest Coach in NFL History".  Learning to become a leader from one of the best, Wendy has developed a work ethic and entrepreneur spirit to help others. 


     In 2006, Wendy and her family moved to New Jersey for 4 years where she was the General Manager of two Hospital-Based Fitness and Wellness Centers which included over 10,000 members.  Overseeing the entire operation and budgets, Wendy led two successful clubs through a declining economy because she valued the importance of every member’s well- being and health.


     Now back in South Florida, Wendy is compelled to continue her passion to enhance the lives of her community through teaching and motivating people to exercise, eat healthy, and live life to their fullest potential.  No matter what challenges or disabilities one may have, exercise should be adapted into every individual’s weekly routine for disease and obesity prevention.

At True Balance Pilates and Fitness, our mission is to enhance the lives of individuals through pilates exercises and functional training. 

Our True Balance Classes offer small personalized group classes of five people or less in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment.  One-on-one personal training is also available.

Pilates is for any skill level from beginner through advanced and you will absolutely feel improvements in flexibility, posture, movement coordination, spine and core strength within ten sessions.

Our Studio has five brand new Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformer Pilates Equipment and five indoor stationary bicycles.
